Geoff Gallegos is a composer/arranger who has inked hundreds of pieces for a variety of instrumentations, from string quartet to full orchestra. A hybrid-artist, he’s found success in the fine arts world, academia, and the commercial environment. He co-founded the Los Angeles underground champ daKAH Hip Hop Orchestra in 1999, and has led that group on world-class stages across the USA.
After attending Berklee College of Music, Geoff apprenticed with symphony Maestro Larry Baird while traveling in a van with the funk/rock band Psychodelic Zombiez. Geoff is an active band leader in Los Angeles, bringing different ensembles and different repertoire for a wide array of stages. He’s scored films, written and played for many recordings, toured with several artists, and been part of a Grammy winner, a Grammy nominee, and a gold and a platinum record.
Geoff has recently completed a commission for LA Opera, which will premiere in October of 2016.
